The late Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Returning Officer Geoffrey Gitobu was laid to rest on Wednesday at his rural home in Ntugi, Buuri constituency of Meru county.
Gitobu passed away after feeeling dizzy and collapsing in Nanyuki town.
He was taken to Nanyuki cottage hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to an autopsy report performed on his body after two days, Gitobu passed away following a heart attack brought on by a blood clot in the pulmonary artery.
The pathologists who performed the autopsy also revealed that he was anaemic.
The postmortem disproved rumors of a possible murder because there were no wounds or signs of struggle on his body.
During his burial service, many people eulogized him as a devoted, loving, caring and honest person joined who joined IEBC as a returning officer in the year 2010.
He was a husband to Catherine Kagwiria and a farther to Rhodes Kinoti, Tunu Gatwiri and Amana Nkirote.
