Former Deputy President and Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Hon. Rigathi Gachagua has arrived in the United States for a two-month tour aimed at engaging Kenyans living abroad and the international community on issues affecting Kenya.
Gachagua shared updates about his arrival through a statement posted on his social media handles.
"Accompanied by my beloved spouse, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, I arrived at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in Washington to kick off my diaspora engagement with Kenyans in the USA and the international community on issues affecting our beloved country," Gachagua stated shortly after landing.
He was received by a jubilant crowd of Kenyan nationals who had turned up at the airport to welcome him.
"I was warmly welcomed by jubilant Kenyans here, and I am truly excited. The love and support are unmatched," he added.
During his stay, Hon. Gachagua is expected to meet with Kenyans in diaspora, attend community forums, and engage with policymakers on matters related to the welfare of Kenyans abroad.
His visit comes just weeks after announcing his extended trip, which is widely seen as part of efforts to strengthen his political footprint among Kenyans in the diaspora.
