'Gov't Will Not Shut Down the Internet
The government recently announced plans to crack down on the misuse of social media, Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’I today has maintained the same while noting that the internet won’t be affected.
CS Matiang’i spoke during the launch of the National Computer and Cybercrimes Coordination Committee (NC4) in Nairobi on Thursday.
He further cited that, the country’s democracy does not allow it to resort to such extreme measures, however warning that cyberbullies will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
He said the government will root out all perpetrators of cybercrime in a bid to clean up the streets of digital media.
