Ayra Starr Set To Perform In Kenya
Nigerian afrobeat sensation Ayra Starr is set to perform in Nairobi, Kenya on the 4th of next month.
The 20-year-old ‘Rush” hit maker will be performing at Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) at the Shoke Shoke festival.
In a video posted on Instagram, Ayra Starr confirmed her upcoming show urging her fans to grab their tickets as early as possible.
According to the Shoke Shoke organizers, the Ayra Starr is set to headline a rock on March 4, 2023, from 4 pm till late, alongside Khaligraph Jones, Mejja, Boutross, and the Only Rosa.
Last year, Ayra performed in Kenya for the first time where she teamed up with Bien Aime.
She is currently one of the most streamed non-East African acts on digital stores across East African countries, with over 100 million plus streams of her debut EP Ayra Starr and debut album 19 & Dangerous.
Starr has been dubbed one of the biggest musical prospects by Rolling Stone and Vogue.
Shoke Shoke, that is organizing the event, is the green arm of Mwanaume ni Effort (MNE) and an annual Green Festival targeted at the youth, built on the 3 pillars of Education, Environment and Entertainment.
In a statement, MNE said the sustainable music festival will be the first of its kind in Nairobi to educate the youth on the importance of going green; and driving behavior change among its target audience for a sustainable environment.
At the festival, there will be no single use plastics and there will be recycling points while 10,000 trees will be planted in partnership with Miti Alliance and the Kenya Forest Services to contribute to the government’s Jaza Miti Campaign.
