An Ad-hoc Committee of the Kericho County Assembly has concluded its investigation into the County Government Committee responsible for managing funds raised through fundraising for the Londiani Accident victims. The Committee found that the funds were misappropriated and has recommended the immediate dismissal of certain officials.

Presenting the investigation report in the County Assembly, the Ad-hoc Committee accused the County Secretary and Head of Public Service, Dr. Wesly Bor, of abusing their office by forging minutes, misusing funds, and approving improper withdrawals. Dr. Bor was also the Chairman of the County Government Committee overseeing the fund utilization.

Health Services Committee Member Brenda Bii is accused of office misconduct, fund misappropriation, non-disclosure, and lack of accountability. Similarly, Finance and Economic Planning Committee Member Leonard Ngetich faces accusations of approving improper fund withdrawals against legal provisions.

The Committee, led by Chairman Moses Rotich, recommended the removal of the County Chief Officer of the Executive Office of the Governor, Alphonse Rotich, due to forgery, abuse, and procurement violations. Chief Finance Officer Gilbert Bii is accused of professional negligence and breaching procurement laws. The report also alleges non-disclosure, misuse of funds, and perjury against County Chief Officer of Lands, Housing, Physical Planning, and Housing, Betsy Chebet.

The investigation revealed that a total of Sh 14,589,624 was raised for the benefit of Londiani accident victims, including families of deceased individuals and injured individuals.

After the session, Ad-hoc Committee Chair Moses Rotich expressed confidence in the investigation's integrity and urged Governor Eric Mutai to implement the recommended actions against corrupt officials for the welfare of the county and the accident victims.
