Suspect In Maigo's Murder Pleads Guilty
Anne Adhiambo, prime suspect in the murder of Nairobi Hospital finance director Eric Maigo pleaded guilty to the murder charges.
During the hearing on Thursday, Judge Kaanyi Kimondo read the charges to her three times in Swahili where she admitted to having murdered the late Maigo.
The court warned the accused of the possible penalties for pleading guilty. In the pursuit of justice, she was given time to speak to her lawyers.
The case was referred to the Kibera law courts for a new plea hearing on November 8.
Adhiambo stood trial after an age assessment showed she was over 18. However, her lawyers still argued that she is a minor of 17 years.
Meanwhile, she will be held at the Langata women's prison.
Adhiambo is accused of killing Eric Maigo whose lifeless body was found in his house bearing 25 stab wounds on September 15, at Woodley Estate in Kilimani.
