New Disability Act To Spur Action

The recent enactment of the Persons with Disabilities Act 2025 has ignited a wave of proactive engagement across the country, with innovators, policymakers, entrepreneurs, educators, and organizations representing persons with disabilities all rolling up their sleeves to actualize the comprehensive legal framework it provides.
This landmark bill, which aligns Kenyan law with both the national Constitution and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, is setting the stage for significant advancements in inclusivity.
This momentum is set to culminate at the sixth Inclusive Africa Conference, scheduled to take place from June 3 to 5, 2025, at the JW Marriott Hotel in Nairobi. Hosted by inABLE, the conference arrives at a critical juncture, poised to build upon the new legal foundations laid by the Act.
The conference, themed “Scaling Digital Accessibility through Innovation & Entrepreneurship,” will critically examine the pivotal role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in driving assistive technologies.
