NCPWD and MSI Kenya Partner to Boost Reproductive Health Access for Persons with Disabilities

The National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) and MSI Reproductive Choices Kenya have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at ensuring equitable access to crucial Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services for persons with disabilities.
According to a social media post by NCPWD, this collaboration will actively work to mainstream disability inclusion throughout MSI Kenya's service delivery. A key aspect of this commitment involves intensive training and sensitization for MSI Kenya staff, ensuring they are equipped to meet the specific requirements of people with disabilities.
The partnership also seeks to enhance access to SRHR information and services by guaranteeing the availability of accessible venues, providing professional sign language interpreters, and strategically utilizing various digital platforms.
A significant component of this initiative will be the development of inclusive communication materials, such as videos with captioning and sign language, to make information readily accessible to all persons with disabilities.
Furthermore, the NCPWD will lead advocacy efforts to promote increased investment in SRHR services, specifically for persons with disabilities.
The Council emphasized its unwavering commitment to upholding Article 43(1) of the Constitution of Kenya and the Persons with Disabilities Act, 2025.
This fundamental right guarantees every person the highest attainable standard of health, explicitly including access to reproductive healthcare.
