Purma holding Directors today morning presented themselves in court facing tax evasion charges, Mary and Purity Mungai were paraded before trial Magistrate Felix Kombo where they pleaded not guilty.
They faced 8 counts of knowingly and unlawfully omitting taxes due in the income tax returns submitted to the Commissioner for Domestic Taxes for the period between 2014-2020, hence charged Ksh. 2.2 billion.
They had been on the run for one week after being summoned to appear before the Kenya Revenue Authority on December 3, but they never honored the order which led to the anti-corruption court in Nairobi issuing arrest warrants against the two for frustrating court processes.
