Govt Concludes University Placement For 2024 KCSE Candidates

The government has finalized the placement of 2024 KCSE candidates into universities, marking a major step toward implementing the revamped higher education funding model that blends scholarships and loans for deserving students.
Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba, in remarks delivered on his behalf by Dr. David Watene, Director of Education in the State Department for Higher Education, announced that the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) had completed the process.
“I wish to confirm that KUCCPS has concluded the placement of students who applied for admission to various universities based on the 2024 KCSE results. The official placement results will be released next week to facilitate preparations for the 2025/2026 academic year.” said the education CS.
The new funding model aims to ensure that students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds have access to higher education through a combination of government scholarships and loans.
In addition to traditional degree programs, the placement also includes maritime and technical training courses, reflecting the government’s push to align academic offerings with job market demands.
This announcement now sets the stage for students and universities to begin the next steps in the admission and enrollment process.
