President Ruto: 'I will Serve All'

President William Ruto on Sunday, October 2, made his first visit to the Nyanza region since he ascended to power as Kenya's fifth President.

President Ruto during his visit joined Homa Bay residents at African Inland Church (AIC) for a church service.

Speaking after the service, President Ruto assured Homabay residents of his commitment to work hand in hand with their leaders to fulfill the promises he gave during the campaign period.

"I want to give you my assurance that I am going to work with all elected leaders of Homa Bay county so that we can transform our country on the basis of the plan we have agreed upon," said President Ruto.

The Head of state vowed to follow up on the pending projects in the county which includes transport and water projects.

President Ruto further added that he will revisit the region next month in a bid to kick a housing program that will provide the youth with affordable houses.

I promised you that we will build 5,000 houses and God willing I will come again next year for the phase two where we will build 2,000 houses," he said.

He lauded residents of Homabay for the warm reception he was accorded during the visit.

On the other hand, A section of leaders in the county were unable to join the president due to various circumstances.

Homabay governor Gladys Wanga in a tweet explained that she was in Mombasa for an official duty while Homa Bay town MP Peter Kaluma, cited a lack of means and proper coordination of the President's visit.
