The Government’s effort to enhance water security has been boosted by the government of Netherlands through its Kenyan embassy by launching a ksh. 507 million water project.

A five-year project dubbed ‘catchment to tap'(C2T) aims at addressing challenges based on water, sanitation, and creating linkages between water resources and their access.

A Senior Embassy Officer, Rose Mackenzie, said the project will address the concerns of increased water demands for growing agricultural practices, industries, and increased water consumption due to population growth.

World Wide Fund, C2T project leader William Ojwang, said through a collaborative approach with national and county government, issues of water will be solved by sensitizing residents on the need to protect water catchment areas and also using water sparingly.
