Newly elected Nairobi Members of County Assembly (MCA) began their two-day orientation on Thursday ahead of the first sitting.
According to a notice from the Nairobi County Assembly Clerk, Edward Gichana, the orientation would be on Thursday, September 1, and Friday, September 2, 2022.
“Ahead of the first sitting of the first Assembly, orientation has been organized for the elect members. The clerk of the Country Assembly invites all the Members-elect for the orientation sessions which will be held at the city hall building, County Assembly wing “read the statement.
The activities to be done during the orientation session include; collection of biodata information, registration of members, briefing on the use of the chamber voting system of the Assembly and briefings of the office of the clerk on the administration and legislative matters.
The MCAs will also be briefed on the services and facilities available for them, and they were then asked to carry their documents including their National ID, KRA pin or passport, and the IEBC certificate.
“Please note that the information provided during the orientation will be used for purposes of communication of Assembly meetings. It will also be used for the application of medical covers,” stated the notice.
