Only 1.4m Kenyans registered as new voters
IEBC has enrolled a total of 1,413,444 new voters out of the projected target of 6,000,000 eligible voters.
A total of 352,679 registered voters have applied to transfer from their current registration centers to other centers.
IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati said the Commission will resume the constituency office-based Continuous Voter Registration and Revision of the Voter’s Roll upon conclusion of the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration.
Although the commission shall require further budgetary allocation of Sh42.7 million per day on any additional voter registration day.
The exercise will run for a period of 15 days and will be concluded on 20th December 2021 even as the Commission sets its eyes on certifying and publishing the voters' register by June 2022.
