Mombasa Cement Brings Hope To Over 350 Persons With Physical Disabilities
Mombasa Cement Company has brought hope and mobility to over 350 persons with physical disabilities across the country by providing them with artificial limbs and calipers.
This two-day medical camp, held in Mombasa, saw skilled doctors and specialists from India offer life-changing services to individuals struggling with physical disabilities.
According to Rajesh Jambo, a volunteer with the company, plans are underway to conduct similar camps every four months across the country.
Individuals interested in the program can simply visit the Mombasa Cement offices along Haile Selassie Avenue in Mombasa.
Rajesh said they will undergo registration and limb measurements, and within three to four months, they will be contacted for fitting and hand-over of their personalized prosthetics.
The beneficiaries of the camp expressed immense gratitude for the opportunity to regain mobility and independence. Mubarak Kiptoo Salim, who lost his leg in a 1992 accident, eagerly awaits his prosthetic leg and hopes for similar initiatives in other regions to reach more people in need.
Asha Mwajanja, whose son Saad Mwinyi received a prosthetic leg, shared her joy at seeing him walk and play like other children.
