Gengetone artist Mejja has revealed that he is battling a throat illness, explaining his absence from the music industry.
During an interview with Mseto East Africa, Mejja said the problem began during his tour to Australia in August last year but brushed it off and took over the counter medicine.
“Hapo ndio nilijua kuna issue. Hapo ndio nilienda hospitali. So enyewe tuseme tu throat yangu haiko poa. Shida ni nikirecord lazima nipige ile high pitch. Nimeambiwa nikae one month bila kutumia sauti,” said Mejja.
He started taking the illness seriously when he noticed spots of blood when he coughed.
He is undergoing voice hygiene therapy at Avenue Hospital and has been advised to take a break from music to heal his throat.
Mejja is currently undergoing voice rest and therapy to improve his condition. He asked his fans to pray for him as the situation had affected him psychologically.
“Waniombee yaani kwanza. Kwababu inaniaffect psychologically. Unajua mziki ndio kila kitu.”
