In Telanet village, Kericho County, a 39-year-old man named Collins Kiprono is appealing for help from well-wishers and the government to raise funds for medical attention. For the past 16 years, Kiprono has been living with two bullets lodged in his chest, a result of being hit by stray bullets during the 2007/2008 post-election violence in Kericho town on December 26, 2007.

Kiprono believes that the lead bullets might have leaked into his bloodstream, causing health issues. His health began to deteriorate in 2020, and he fears the bullets are taking a toll on his body. He needs a CT scan to assess the extent of damage and determine the necessary medical action.

The father of three earns a living by roasting maize at Kapsoit market, as his health conditions no longer permit him to engage in farming. His income from this venture is insufficient to meet all his family's needs, and he has defaulted on his NHIF contributions. With two daughters in primary school, he seeks medical and financial assistance urgently.

Kiprono vividly recalls the day of the incident when he was caught in a crowd during the post-election demonstrations. He suddenly felt unwell and later discovered he had been shot and bullets were lodged in his chest. Doctors advised against removing the bullets due to the risks involved.

Despite his challenges, Kiprono dreams of a better future for his children and has not disclosed his condition to them. His wife, Caroline Chepkoech, stands by him despite the difficulties they face.
