Meet Winnie Wambui, a dynamic disc jockey who is redefining what's possible. Professionally known as DJ Wiwa, she has cerebral palsy but doesn't let it define her. Instead, she uses her platform to inspire others and advocate for people with disabilities, all while commanding the turntables.

Wiwa shared on THE HASHTAG podcast that her childhood challenges pushed her toward music, which became her sanctuary. Though she can't walk, she finds freedom in movement, dancing with her hands for balance and letting the music guide her.

Her passion was nurtured by her mother, a pillar of support who encouraged her dream.

In a high-energy industry where DJs typically use their hands, Wiwa stands out. She has mastered the art of using her feet to operate the turntables, a skill she has adapted for other daily activities, a powerful demonstration of her ability to turn challenges into unique strengths.

As a dedicated advocate for girls and women with disabilities, DJ Wiwa says the greatest joy of her career is the impact she has on others, especially when she performs at events for families and children with disabilities.
