The debate will be broadcasted and streamed by all media houses in Kenya.

Based on three recent opinion polls, the debate will be conducted in two tiers depending on each candidate's popularity ratings.

The first will comprise candidates whose popularity stands below 5pc, while the second tier will involve candidates who are above 5pc in the opinion poll results.

The session will be moderated by Sophia Wanuna of KTN, James Smart of NTV, Jacob Kioria of KBC, and Linda Alela of TV47, both sessions will be moderated by Trevor Ombija of Citizen TV.

In a statement by the presidential debates' secretariat, moderators were picked based on the principle of impartiality, fairness, and objectivity, as a strong understanding of the Kenyan political landscape and the major issues of the election.

The candidates include; Raila Odinga’s running mate Martha Karua (Azimio One Kenya), William Ruto's running mate Rigathi Gachagua(Kenya Kwanza), Prof George Wajackoyah's running mate Justina Wamae (Roots Party) and David Mwaure Waihiga's running mate Ruth Mutua (Agano Party).
