Azimio La Umoja One Kenya To File Petition Challenging 2022 Presidential Results
Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition will on Monday file a petition challenging the 2022 presidential election results.
Speaking during a church service at Jesus Teaching Ministry in Donholm, Nairobi, Orange Democratic Movement Chief Raila Odinga said he won the August 9th election and that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission was wrong to announce the Kenya Kwanza party leader as the president-elect.
The former Premier further exuded confidence that his team has the whole truth showing what happened in the August polls, and they will use it to challenge Ruto's victory which will later be invalidated by the supreme court.
“The truth is going to be known because we already know it ourselves and we are going to show it wide and open starting tomorrow,” he said.
Odinga says IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati's announcement did not reflect what Kenyans had decided which he believes the supreme court will rule in his favor.
'I want you to know that there is no doubt in our minds, that the Kenyan people spoke loudly, on the 9th of august, and that voice of the people of Kenya will not be muzzled,” he said.
He was accompanied by his running mate Martha Karua, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, and Embakasi east Mp-elect Babu Owino who reiterated his sentiments adding that they will ensure they bring victory to the coalition.
Odinga at the same time criticized Ruto's move to woo leaders of parties allied to his coalition which he terms a shoddy way of boosting his parliamentary representation.
Mandera Senator-elect Ali Roba’s United Democratic Movement (UDM) last week joined the Kenya Kwanza alliance citing a lack of transparency in the Azimio political outfit.
