UDA Party Expels Senator Gloria Orwoba

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party has expelled Nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba from its membership, citing disciplinary grounds. The decision comes after her controversial appearance at the homecoming ceremony of former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i in Kisii.
Following a thorough review by the Party’s Disciplinary Committee, a resolution was passed to expel Orwoba in accordance with Article 29 of the UDA Party Constitution. The Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) ratified the decision during its meeting on 19th May 2025.
Although the official statement did not specify the reasons, party insiders associate her expulsion with her attendance at Dr. Matiang’i’s event. The former CS has been a vocal critic of the ruling administration, and Orwoba’s presence was seen as a show of political defiance.
“The Party’s Disciplinary Committee has resolved that Sen. Gloria Orwoba be expelled from the membership of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party with immediate effect,” the statement read.
As a result, she no longer holds any privileges within the party and is barred from representing UDA in any capacity.
