Tragic Crash Claims Popular Biker Gustavo Rides And Wife In Nairobi

A dark cloud has engulfed Kenya’s biking community following the tragic death of popular motorcycle enthusiast Luhya Kidd Jnr, widely known as Gustavo Rides, and his wife in a grisly road accident in Nairobi.
The fatal crash occurred along the Northern Bypass near Runda as the couple travelled from Marurui heading towards Ruaka on a high-powered motorcycle.
Preliminary police reports indicate that the motorcycle collided with a Toyota Succeed that had allegedly joined the main road from UN Avenue without proper caution, triggering the deadly impact.
Witnesses say the force of the collision threw both Gustavo and his wife off the motorcycle, leaving them with critical injuries that shocked onlookers at the busy stretch of road.
Gustavo, whose real name was Elvis Kamala, is reported to have died on the spot after sustaining multiple fractures, while his wife, identified as Diana Mwai, succumbed to severe head injuries while being rushed to hospital.
Officers from Kenya Police Service based at Runda Police Station responded swiftly to the scene and launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The bodies of the deceased were later moved to the mortuary at Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital as authorities began the process of documenting the incident and notifying family members.
Gustavo Rides was a well-known figure in Kenya’s motorcycle circles, having built a strong following through his passion for superbikes and his growing presence as a motorcycle dealer and influencer.
His sudden death, alongside that of his wife, has sparked an outpouring of grief online, with fellow riders and fans calling for increased road safety awareness, particularly along the Northern Bypass, which has been flagged as a high-risk corridor for motorists and bikers alike.
