Purko Communities and Narok Government Agree on Development Projects
Narok Governor, Mr. Patrick Ntutu, announced that the county government has successfully agreed with local Purko communities regarding the construction of a significant milk processing plant and an industrial park on Limanet community land. This collaborative effort involved county government leadership and local communities from Limanet, Ilmashariani, and Morijo in Narok.
After the meeting with these communities, Governor Ntutu expressed his optimism that these projects would commence shortly, emphasizing their potential to significantly impact Narok residents by generating employment opportunities and new markets.
Furthermore, he highlighted that Mr. Simon Chelugui, the Cabinet Secretary responsible for Cooperatives and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, had recently visited Narok and engaged with farmers. They discussed the importance of constructing a multimillion-dollar milk processing plant in Narok County to enhance milk production and boost farmers' income.
Mr. Rimonie Sodro, a former councilor from Imashariani ward in Narok town, spoke on behalf of the community and emphasized that the land set aside in the early seventies was intended for development. He acknowledged the county government's effort in building a slaughterhouse to serve the local population and surrounding communities. Sodro emphasized the need for the community to embrace government-driven development initiatives, underlining that the land was designated for projects that would benefit the residents
