President William Ruto has completed his five-day development tour of the Mt. Kenya area, visiting all nine counties, examining multibillion-shilling infrastructure projects, and introducing many new programs that he committed to fulfilling on time.

The Head of State, alongside his deputy, Kithure Kindiki, made stops in Laikipia, Nyeri, Murang'a, Tharaka Nithi, Meru, Kiambu, Nyandarua, Embu, and Kirinyaga counties to renew their commitment to serving the people without discrimination.

They also addressed hundreds of overjoyed wananchi who assembled in large numbers to welcome them to the region.

The President spent the final day of his visit in Nyeri County, reviewing the ongoing construction of Ruring'u Affordable Housing units and Ruring'u Stadium, as well as officially launching the Othaya Modern Market, one of ten new markets under development in the county. In Kiambu, he established a new Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) institute, inaugurated the Jitume ICT Lab, and inspected parts of the Mau Mau Road in Lari Constituency. He also inaugurated Githunguri Market.

He began his visit in Laikipia by establishing a tuition block at Ng'arachi Comprehensive School, followed by the launch of a last-mile connectivity project in the same location.
The government would invest Sh1.12 billion to connect 9,000 households in the county.
To help pupils return to school, Ruto stated that Sh200 million has been invested to rehabilitate nine schools in the region, including Ng'arachi, Kirima, Mahua, Muteta, Thigio, Gatarima, Mwenje, Nyakinyua, and Milimani primary schools.
He later laid the groundwork for a 10-classroom block at Nanyuki DEB Primary and Junior Secondary School before viewing the ongoing construction of the Sh350 million Nanyuki Modern Market.
In Kieni constituency in Nyeri County, he launched the 850 million shilling last mile connectivity project that will benefit 10,000 households across the county, commissioned a 12-classroom block at Naromoru primary school, and later addressed the residents at Naromoru market.

On his second day visiting the region, the president initiated the construction of a Huduma Centre in Maua town, Nyeri County. He then assessed the progress of a sewerage line project designed to serve approximately 13,000 residents. Additionally, he presided over the distribution of title deeds to residents of the Athwana area in Tigania West.

Furthering his agenda, the president inspected the ongoing construction of the Nkuene power substation located in Imenti South.

He also emphasized the widespread impact of over 275 electricity projects, which are being implemented across eight constituencies, promising to benefit more than 20,000 households in the region.

Lastly, he commissioned the Kibiru beef feedlot, a facility intended to significantly enhance livestock production in the region for both local consumption and export purposes.

On Day three, President Ruto undertook a series of visits to Nyandarua and Murang'a counties, prioritizing infrastructure and economic development initiatives. In Nyandarua County, his engagements included an inspection of the J.M. Kariuki Memorial Hospital's construction, where he announced the national government's allocation of Sh800 million for its completion.

He also launched the last mile electricity connectivity project in Ol Kalou town, reviewed the progress of an affordable housing project, laid the foundation stone for the Engineer modern market in Kinangop, and toured the North Kinangop affordable housing project.

Moving to Murang'a County, the president assessed the Kahia irrigation project, designed to irrigate 1,600 acres and generate an estimated Sh720 million annually while creating up to 6,000 jobs.

He also inspected the construction of the Karugia modern market, a Sh55 million investment. In Maragua, he commissioned the Maragua Ridge Irrigation Development Project, which features water storage to support irrigation on 800 acres and is expected to create over 12,000 jobs. Finally, in Makuyu, he initiated the last mile electricity connectivity project and laid the foundation stone for the construction of a 764-unit affordable housing development.

On the fourth day of his tour, the president visited Embu and Tharaka Nithi counties, where he focused on water infrastructure, market development, and housing. In Embu, he launched the Kamburu dam water supply project, which includes building an intake, a water treatment plant, and 26 kilometers of pipes.

Moving to Tharaka Nithi County, Ruto opened a tuition block at Tharaka Nithi University, demonstrating a commitment to education. He then assessed the progress of the Gatunga ESP market, a Sh60 million project designed to accommodate 200 traders, and the Sh112 million Chogoria market, both aimed at boosting local commerce.

Finally, he concluded his visit by inspecting a 60-unit affordable housing project for police officers in Chuka town and an ESP market in the same town before addressing local residents.

The president's goal for the region includes completing stalled roads, accelerating the development of cheap homes, and creating contemporary markets to provide dignified working conditions for mama mboga and small-scale traders.
