At least 12 people were killed after a light aircraft, believed to be carrying tourists, crashed in the Tsimba Golini area of Kwale County on Tuesday morning.
According to a statement released by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA), the plane was flying from the coastal town of Diani to a resort in a game park, Kichwa Tembo.
The aircraft crashed minutes after takeoff and burst into flames, leaving a charred wreckage at the scene, officials added.
Following the accident, police and other emergency service providers immediately rushed to the scene.
The airline operates flights between Mombasa and various tourist destinations across the country.
