A light aircraft carrying 12 individuals, presumed to be tourists, crashed near Tsimba Golini, Kwale County, early Tuesday morning.
The plane, registered as 5Y-CCA and operated by an airline servicing tourist destinations like Mombasa, departed from Diani Airport and was en route to Kichwa Tembo. The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) confirmed the 0530 hours crash.
KCAA Director General Emile Arao stated that all 12 persons on board were killed and that government agencies are on site to determine the cause and impact of the accident. The reason for the crash is currently unknown.
