New DCI Director Takes Oath Of Office
Former Head of the Internal Affairs Unit at the National Police Service Commission (NPSC), Amin Mohammed Ibrahim, on Wednesday took the oath of office as the new Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
The event was presided over by Chief Justice Martha Koome with a brief ceremony at the Supreme Court.
While taking the oath Amin pledged to deliver justice to Kenyans in a professional way, adhering to the constitution and duties assigned to him.
For the sake of transparency and accountability to the public, the DCI boss declared his number which is 0722415419 so that members of the public can easily reach out to him.
The DCI boss further promised to fight temporary challenges facing the country including terrorism, narcotics, human trafficking, cybercrime, money laundering, and corruption.
Amin also vowed to collaborate with other security agencies and actors of the criminal justice system in a bid to serve Kenyans without prejudice.
"We shall try as much as possible to work in collaboration with other security agencies such as the EAC, KPS, APS, and other actors of the criminal justice system including the ODPP, Judiciary amongst others for purposes of serving Kenyans without prejudice," he said.
CJ Koome while presiding over the ceremony exuded confidence in the new director noting that he will execute his mandate with effectiveness and by the constitution.
"I have confidence that you will perform your duties by the law and fairness given that our Constitution venerates the cardinal value and principle of justice,” she said.
The new DCI boss was appointed by President William Ruto to succeed George Kinoti on Saturday, October 15 after vetting by the National Police Service Commission (NPSC).
