Nairobi Gubernatorial Debate

Nairobi gubernatorial aspirants are set to take part in a debate slated for Monday 11th, July, from 5 pm to 9 pm.

The debate, which will be hosted at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) main Campus,will be aired by media houses across the country.

Nine candidates are expected to appear before the panel including Johnson Sakaja, Polycarp Igathe, Ann Kagure, Dennis Kodhe, Esther Waruga, Cleophas Kiio, Harman Singh Grewal, Kenneth Nyamwamu, and Nancy Wambui.

This comes just a week before the Deputy Presidential Debate on July 19 and two weeks before the Presidential Debate on July 26.

The event will take place in two tiers, the first will run from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm with a set of aspirants whose popularity rate based on the recent opinion poll stands below 5 percent, and will be moderated by Serfine Achieng’ Ouma of KBC and K24 TV's Ayub Abdikadir.

The second debate will kick off at 8:00 pm and end at 9:30 pm and will be moderated by Zubeida Koome of KTN and NTV's Mark Masai, with aspirants whose popularity rate is above 5 percent.

Members of the public who were interested to participate in the debate submitted their questions via video and text on Saturday, July 9, as earlier requested by the debate's organizing secretariat.
