Court Of Appeal To Be Constructed In Kisii
Appellants whose cases have been pending in courts for years can now breathe a sigh of relief after the announcement of completed plans to put up the Court of Appeal building in Kisii.
The appellants, some currently serving jail sentences, will have the opportunity to be heard as from November 6 – 11 2022.
Speaking during Legal Awareness Week, Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Western Kenya branch, chairman Gideon Nyambati, said construction of the appellate court will start in January next year.
This was after its establishment was rocked with technicalities thwarting the commencement of building works for several years.
Four judges and staff disclosed that they had been deployed to handle the appeal cases whose litigants were spread over six counties.
During the week, stakeholders in the administration of the justice system, including the LSK and Judiciary will attend to the residents’ myriad of problems free of charge.
