Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko, on Tuesday, reunited with President Uhuru Kenyatta after a long period of enmity since his impeachment as the city governor.

Sonko had accompanied President Uhuru Kenyatta on a tour to Mwiki where he (President) commissioned Mwiki Level 3 Hospital, and the Mihang’o Hospital, he later headed to Embakasi and issued 6000 title deeds to residents.

Sonko, during his term in office, was at loggerheads with the National Government especially President Uhuru Kenyatta whom he accused of meddling in Nairobi county matters.

The flashy governor’s allegations followed president Kenyatta’s move to establish the Nairobi Metropolitan Services which is headed by the army general, Mohammed Badi.

The NMS oversees various development agendas of Nairobi city such as health, transport, and utilities.

Sonko was later impeached from office for gross violation of the constitution, abuse of office, misconduct, and crimes against national law.

During the rally, Sonko showered President Kenyatta with praises for his service delivery, adding that he has been watching from a distance how the country’s boss has been making progress.

The Flamboyant leader also recognized the work done by the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) boss Badi.

Regarding politics, Sonko called upon Nairobi residents to vote for Azimio la Umoja’s six-piece for a smooth continuity and completion of President Kenyatta’s projects.
