Azimio Postpones Unveiling of Shortlisted Running Mates
The Azimio-One Kenya Coalition's running mate selection panel, has postponed the unveiling of its report on the shortlisted running mate candidates to Thursday.
The chairman of the panel, Dr. Noah Wekesa told the press that the postponement was due to the absence of the ODM party leader Raila Odinga who is on a campaign tour at the Coast.
"We had intended to send our report today, little did we know that our party leader will be out of town," said Dr. Wekesa.
The panel was expected to submit the names of the top three candidates to former Premier and President Kenyatta on Wednesday for the final decision.
The interviewed candidates include; Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Sabina Chege (Jubilee Party), Martha Karua (NARC Kenya), Charity Ngilu (NARC), Peter Kenneth (Jubilee Party) Ali Hassan Joho (ODM), and Stephen Tarus (National Liberal Party), agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya, deputy ODM leader Wycliffe Oparanya, and Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui.
Dr.Noah Wekesa affirmed that the ODM boss will be available on Thursday to receive the report.
