Raila To Announce Next Political Move After Consultations

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has stated that he will discuss the next course of action with his ODM party.
Speaking on Monday after meeting with President William Ruto at State House in Mombasa, Raila said that he will soon meet with his friends and supporters for deliberations before deciding on his next course of action.
"I will conduct extensive consultations, and we will eventually announce our course of action," he stated.
The two leaders' discussions centered on the recently concluded AUC elections, when Raila lost to Mahamoud Ali Youssouf of Djibouti despite receiving the necessary 33 votes in the seventh round of voting.
The ODM leader added that his party was prepared to cooperate with others in order to promote national cohesion.
He further emphasized that his decision to compete for the seat was personal and thanked President Ruto for his unwavering support during the campaign.
"I want to express my gratitude to Ruto, my younger brother, for supporting me. He only arrived after I made the announcement; he never asked me to run," he clarified.
"He did back my candidacy; he did so both verbally and practically.
