Turkey wins First ever Amputee Football World Cup.

Turkey claimed their maiden Amputee Football World Cup in sterling fashion, after beating reigning champions Angola 4-1 in the final in Istanbul.

Despite pegging 1-1 at the half time break, the hosts put in a dominant second-half display to pay back the 2018, 5-4 defeat Angola handed them.

Turkey’s national amputee football team progressed to the 2022 Amputee World Cup finals after beating Uzbekistan 1-0 on Friday while Angola got the better of Haiti winning 4-2.

At the last Amputee Football World Cup in Mexico in 2018, Türkiye finished a runner-up after losing to Angola 5-4 in penalty shootouts.

Uzbekistan beat Haiti 4-2 to settle for third place.
