Three More Miners Rescued from the Collapsed Abimbo Goldmine.
Local News Updated: 08 December 2021 10:26 EATBondo Deputy County Commissioner Richard Karani confirmed three more miners had been rescued alive early this morning at the Abimbo goldmine in Bondo, Kisumu County.
The three were taken to Bondo Sub-county Hospital for medical examination and treatment, bringing the total number of miners rescued to six.
Karani added that one body was also recovered a few days ago, and the total number of miners who can now be accounted for is seven.
The goldmine collapsed last Thursday night, December 2, trapped eight miners, with seven rescued so far as one more person is still trapped in the collapsed mining shaft.
The rescue mission enters the seventh day today.
