School clubs in the Nyanza region reportedly score highly in promoting integrity in their institutions.

The integrity club members have helped in governance and discipline in their schools which has reduced student unrest among others through imparting honesty issues to their colleagues.

The influencers encourage the students to respect school rules and uphold moral values expected in society.

Addressing the clubs’ members from schools in Kisii, Nyamira, Migori, and Homa Bay county, Ethics, and Anti Corruption Commission Director, Vincent Okong’o explained the current program between the two under implementation.

The clubs established in 2010, he said, were being assisted in promoting integrity for short and long-term benefits of the country adding that the program will be extended to other schools in the country.

Taking an oath of integrity upon assuming office by public servants and state officers underscores the urgent need for their commitment to account for their actions to the public.

Fred Mogaka, the Kisii school principal who hosted the forum, lauded the collaboration between the school clubs and EACC for facilitating the inclusion of integrity in the curriculum.

Learners would understand from the onset that they had a duty to safeguard public property for the benefit of all.
