NITA Chairman to Expand Course Offerings To Attract More Students
Aden Noor Ali, the recently appointed Chairman of the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA), has committed to enhancing and expanding the range of courses offered to attract a greater number of learners.
During a visit to NITA's Athi River Campus on Friday, the Chairman expressed his intentions to enhance both the facilities and course offerings. His goal is to improve the skills and lives of learners through upgraded programs.
Mr. Ali also mentioned that he had been overseeing the Trade Test, a skills evaluation provided by NITA to youth nationwide.
"This marks our fourth day of exam testing. We've been monitoring student exams and focusing on the Trade Test, a skills assessment offered to youth across the country," the Board Chair explained.
NITA offers over 41 courses, including welding, wiring, carpentry, masonry, and mechanical engineering, aiming to provide exemplary training and facilities that cater to the learners' needs.
Mr. Ali emphasized that numerous countries are in search of skilled workers, encouraging youth to explore NITA's offerings to gain skills that could lead to employment opportunities, either abroad or self-employment.
"I encourage young people to enroll in NITA for training and afterward join the National Employment Authority (NEA), so they can secure jobs in other countries like London, Saudi Arabia, and the United States," the Chairman emphasized.
He highlighted that the skilled workforce being sent abroad contributes significantly to the country's economy.
He also urged Kenyans to employ youth who have completed NITA courses and possess certificates to contribute to the nation's economic growth.
