NARC,UPIA Says 'Yes' Azimio La Umoja

Azimio La Umoja Presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga received a major political boost on Wednesday after CS Ukur Yatani's UPIA party and Martha Karua's NARC-Kenya joined the coalition and vowed to support his August 2022 presidential bid.

“I am here to confirm that from now onwards NARC Kenya and I are supporting the Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga and this is without any equivocation. I have said time and again, and NARC-Kenya believes in this, that as we move forward we must look for leaders who have a demonstrated track record of being selfless and putting the interest of the nation above theirs,” Karua said.

UPIA party on other hand, declared their support for the ODM party leader at the Bomas of Kenya during their National Delegates Conference held at the Bomas of Kenya, the NDC was convened to officially endorse Raila's presidential bid.

The former prime minister who was present during the UPIA NDC said Azimio's main agenda is to give Kenyans alternative leadership that is devoid of socio-economic hardships.

"So many people want the best in life but they have no alternative. We can change that," Raila said.

Meanwhile, Karua said she carefully considered the two coalitions based on who had the best agendas for the Kenyans, after which she finally admitted that Odinga’s allies sincerely want what is best for Kenya.

“I have been looking keenly and I have been able to identify a critical mass of good people within the Azimio coalition and that is all that is needed to fight for the second liberation in this country,” she said.

Leaders present at the UPIA NDC included WIPER party leader Klonzo Musyoka, who recently joined the Azimio Movement and vowed to popularise Raila's presidential bid, stating that it was for the interest of the nation as much as he had earlier vowed not to support the ODM party leader but have his way to the ballot.

The August presidential hopeful Raila Odinga, during the UPIA NDC, expressed his gratitude to the parties who have joined his coalition stating that, together they will work towards eradicating problems facing Kenyans such as poverty, ignorance, and diseases.

A section of political leaders across the country has lauded Karua's decision to join Azimio citing that, she has tested and proven leaderships skills not only as an MP but also in national governance.

Kirinyaga Deputy County government, Peter Ndambiri has requested the Azimio team flagbearer Raila Odinga to nominate Karua as the running mate during august polls noting that, she is experienced and far above the potential running mates in the coalition.
