Manchester City however found a lifeline as Ilkay Gundogan’s double and Rodri’s drilled shot secured victory for Guardiola’s men.
Elsewhere, Liverpool were 3-1 winners against wolves but fell short by just a point ending their hopes of clinching four titles.
