Arsenal held Liverpool to a goalless draw at the Anfield despite early red card in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final.
Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka was sent off for reckless last man challenge on Diogo Jota 24 Minutes into the game, earning a straight red card.
Liverpool however failed to capitalize on the advantage on what seemed as an underwhelming performance, giving Arsenal a lifeline in their preparations ahead of the second leg at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal put up a spirited fight playing defensively with head coach Arteta making defensive substitutions that paid off.
The Second leg will be played on Thursday and the winner will take on Chelsea at the Finals.
