Kenya Airways flights are set to resume in the skies on Friday after the Employment and Labour Relations Court ended the four-day pilots’ strike that had grounded the flights.

The management says the return to normalcy will not be a walk in the park and will require double effort despite the losses incurred after the industrial action.

The airline’s Chief Executive Allan Kilavuka has revealed that in the coming days possible changes will be made for seamless business operations.

Pilots who have indicated their willingness to resume their duties now await to be scheduled.

The airline has already put in place measures to facilitate travel for passengers who were stranded following the pilots’ strike linking the passengers to connecting flights through different African countries.

Meanwhile, travelers said that they were optimistic after they had been forced to reschedule their flights.

“My flight is now confirmed at 5.00 p.m. I just hope they don’t cancel it again. “Eliud Okello, a journeyer who was to travel to Kisumu said.

In a statement shared on Tuesday night, KALPA withdrew their strike notice and urged their members to resume duty on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at 6 am.

“The strike is off; we are back to work,” a KALPA spokesperson said on Wednesday.

However, the aircraft is only operating partially since Wednesday.

The Association further said that members are urged to report any incident of victimization or disciplinary action to the Executive Council.

KALPA regretted the inconveniences caused to the travelers and urged their members to resume normalcy with immediate effect.
