KCPE And KPSEA Exams Kick-Off

Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) examinations kicked off Monday morning.

President William Ruto oversaw the distribution of examination materials in Kikuyu, Kiambu County, while other leaders visited various examination centers to monitor the exercise.

While wishing the students well during the exam period, the Head of State assured them of a smooth transition to the next education level.

He prayed for the candidates and urged them to be confident and do their best while in the exam room.

President Ruto was accompanied by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah among other officials.

The KNEC exams will run from October 30 to November 24 with KCPE and KPSEA ending on November 1.

Over 1.4 million candidates are undertaking their KCPE exams and about 1.2 million are undertaking the KPSEA exams.

This year’s KCPE exams will mark the end of the 8-4-4 education system in primary schools, it has been replaced with the Competency-Based Curriculum which has a 2-6-6-3 system.
