Victor Osimhen scored a brace and Kelechi Iheanacho added to the tally as Nigeria edged Sierra Leone 3-2 to secure their spot in the finals of the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Super Eagles made a strong start, with the Serie A striker getting a double inside 32 minutes.

Sierra Leone however pulled one goal back before half-time thanks to Mustapha Bundu and later levelled through Augustus Kargbo with six minutes of regular time to play.

Leicester City forward Iheanacho found space and added his goal to the tally five minutes into added time, handing Super Eagles a direct ticket to the Finals.

Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau and Mali also booked places at the African showpiece from January 13 in the Ivory Coast, raising the number of qualifiers to 14.

Hosts the Ivory Coast, holders Senegal, Algeria, Burkina Faso, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Morocco, South Africa, Tunisia and Zambia had already secured places for the 24-team finals.
