IEBC TO GAZETTE NOTICE OF THE FINAL VOTER REGISTER
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is today expected to publish a gazette notice on the final register of voters that will be used during the upcoming general elections.
IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati in statement said that a total of 22,120,458 voters have been registered to participate in the elections in 46,232 polling stations across the country out of the 27, 857,598 citizens with Identity Cards.
To address the question of how prepared the IEBC is chairman Wafula Chebukati cleared the air that polling centers with no internet will be served by satellite modems to transmit results.
The IEBC also gave a report of the three officer who are already being charged in court for illegal transfer of voters affecting Nyeri, Isiolo, Murang'a, Kakamega, Nyandarua, Mandera , Kiambu , Nandi and Nairobi with which the abnormalities were rectified.
Statics from the registered voter showed that more men turned out than women on a percentage equation of 50.88% for men and 49.12% for women.
IEBC Ceo Marjan Hassan did make clears calls that the 100,000 voters have been corrected and the 246,465 deceased registered from the register.
