During electioneering period, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission uses different forms in presenting presidential results, these forms are referred to as 34A, B, and C.

The forms and their functions are listed below:

Form 34A.

As Kenyans await the announcement of the final presidential election results, the news cycle has been dominated by discussions about Form 34A, which is used in presidential results declaration at polling stations.

Form 34A.  Is used by the IEBC to tabulate presidential election results at polling stations. The form is filled in by presiding officers after counting votes.

It showcases the number of votes cast for each presidential candidate, the total number of registered voters in that station, as well as the rejected, protested, disputed, and valid votes.

The candidate or their representatives or agents must sign the form to certify that the information on it is correct. After that, the form is uploaded to the IEBC portal.

Form 34B.

This document is used to compile all of the numbers from various polling stations and classify them according to the constituency level bracket.

It entails the polling station codes, station names, numbers of registered voters, vote totals for each candidate, and the number of valid votes cast.

That translates to long hours because there are 290 forms. This means that there are 290 Forms 34B representing the number of constituencies.

The process helps to verify whether what was indicated in Form 34A matches what is in Form 34B.

This form is submitted to the National Tallying Centre for verification before Form 34C is created.

Form 34C.

This is a collection of all Forms 34B in one document. It is the official document from which Chairman Chebukati will announce the results and declare the president.
