Women with disabilities in Narok County have called on the county government to help them start small businesses so that they can support themselves and their families.

Led by Grace Silantoi, the women said they face numerous challenges, including financial difficulties and social rejection. They asked Narok County Governor Patrick Ntutu to hold a closed-door meeting with them so that they could discuss their problems in detail.

Silantoi emphasized that people with disabilities should be actively involved in national development, as they have unique talents that should be exploited.

Another woman, Elizabeth Tupunya, thanked First Lady Rachael Ruto for awarding a Sh. 1.5 million bursary to children with disabilities in the county. She said the bursary had motivated the group, which had felt neglected for a long time.

Mercy Naisia and Anastacia Lenoi echoed Tupunya’s sentiments, calling for inclusion in the county’s development agenda.
