Weather Update
The flood crisis in the country has so far claimed 103 lives, destroyed 28,484 households, and displaced 185,297 people.
According to the Government spokesperson Isaac Mwaura, 29 people have been injured, and 21 people have been reported as missing.
The latest huge tragedy that has been experienced is the one that occurred in Mai Mahiu in Nakuru County on Sunday night, where over 40 people are reported to have lost their lives.
The search for the missing people is set to enter its second day today.
Meanwhile, the Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has warned that the current downpours are sticking around for several days across the country.
Their 7-day forecast predicts heavy rainfall, potentially accompanied by strong winds, thunder, and lightning.
The Weatherman is further warning of landslides in areas with steep slopes where soils become saturated.
The KMD advises road users, aviators, and boat operators to exercise extreme caution during this time.
