Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has appealed to Kenyans to prioritise road safety as travel increases during the Christmas and New Year holidays. In his festive message, Kenyatta encouraged motorists, passengers and pedestrians to act responsibly to prevent avoidable accidents.
He noted that the holiday period is often marked by heavy traffic on major highways as families travel to reunite with loved ones, a situation that calls for extra vigilance and patience on the roads. Kenyatta urged drivers to observe traffic rules, avoid speeding and ensure their vehicles are roadworthy.
The former head of state also extended Christmas greetings to Kenyans, wishing them peace, joy and unity as they celebrate the festive season. He called on citizens to look out for one another and uphold values of care and responsibility.
Kenyatta’s message comes amid renewed concerns over road accidents during the holidays, with authorities and leaders issuing similar appeals to reduce fatalities and injuries as the year draws to a close.
