Three Arrested, Loaded Firearm Recovered in Laare Police Operation

Police in Laare have arrested three suspects and recovered a loaded firearm during a targeted security operation aimed at tackling criminal activity in the area.
The operation was carried out by officers from the Kenya Police Service in collaboration with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, following intelligence reports linking the suspects to recent incidents of insecurity.
Authorities said the suspects were apprehended at a suspected hideout within the Igembe region, which has recently experienced a rise in reported criminal activities.
A search conducted at the premises led to the recovery of a loaded firearm and ammunition, which investigators believe may have been used or intended for use in criminal operations.
Police described the seizure as a major breakthrough in efforts to curb the spread of illegal firearms and dismantle organized criminal networks in Meru County.
The three suspects are currently in custody and are assisting detectives with ongoing investigations to establish the scope of their activities and identify possible accomplices.
Security agencies have intensified patrols and intelligence-led operations across the region in response to growing concerns over public safety.
