Deputy President William Ruto now says Azimio La Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Odinga’s failure to attend the Presidential debate amounts to disrespect for the people of Kenya.
“He cannot come for the debate because he has no plan. He doesn’t know what to say.” Ruto said.
Ruto had the podium to himself after Raila said he wouldn’t participate in the debate, instead heading to Meru County for campaigns.
The Deputy President said he will accept the outcome of the election, and if he has concerns, he will seek guidance from the courts and will ultimately respect its decision.
He maintains that his competitor Raila Odinga doesn’t have a solution to the menace of corruption as well as state capture, claiming that his candidature is enjoying support from people guilty of the two issues.
In a statement released by the Azimio Coalition spokesperson Makau Mutua, 3 days ago noted stated that Raila will not be attending the debate instead will have a town hall meeting planned by the coalition will allow voters to interact with and ask questions to the coalition’s presidential candidate and his running mate Martha Karua.
