President William Ruto is set to deliver his first State of the Nation address on Thursday, afternoon.

The address will be held in the National Assembly chamber at Parliament Buildings in Nairobi before a joint Parliamentary sitting of both the National Assembly and the Senate.

The country’s first in command is expected to outline his administration’s achievements over the past year, as well as his plans for the future. He is also expected to address the challenges facing the country, such as the high cost of living and unemployment.

This is according to Article 132 of the Constitution which expects him to give a State of the Nation address on the progress of his administration.

The last State of the Nation address was given by former President Uhuru Kenyatta on November 30, 2021.

All members of the two Parliamentary institutions (Senate and National Assembly) are to avail themselves at 2:30 p.m.
